Immerse yourself in the beauty and culture of Asia’s most vibrant destination.  This tour starts in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), which is  a city of bright neon lights, endless shopping and trendy cafes, here you will explore metropolitan Saigon and have a peek inside the Cu Chi tunnels.  You will then fly to Hue for a Motorbike tour and visit Hue’s Citadel and Forbidden Purple City to learn about Vietnam’s emperors and their intriguing histories. This will be a truly action packed day of scenery, history, culture and cuisine.  You will end your tour in Hoi An where you will have the option to do a cooking class or day tour to Bana Hills – Golden Hand Bridge, or choose to roam at your leisure.

DAY 1      Arrival Saigon

Welcome to your holiday with us. 

Upon your arrival at Saigon airport look for our driver who will be waiting for you with a sign bearing your name. The journey from the airport to your hotel will take approximately 30 minutes and is an entertaining experience full of chaotic traffic, hectic architecture and overloaded motorbikes. Arrival hotel, check in and relax.  

Ho Chi Minh City, formally Saigon, is a city of bright neon lights, endless shopping and trendy cafes.  Its wide tree-lined boulevards reflect its French heritage, and towering skycrapers announce it has landed squarely in the 21st Century.  As a contrast to this modern backdrop is the chaotic traffic of swarming motorbikes which are generally overloaded or carrying exotic passengers.  This is people watching at its best.

DAY 2      Cu Chi Tunnels half day & Saigon City tour half day      (B/L)

This morning you will be met at your hotel at 8.00am for the journey west from Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi. On arrival you will be guided through the famous tunnels used by the communist guerrillas during the Vietnam War. The tunnel network stretches over 250km and extends to three levels underground providing you with a remarkable insight into the hardships, courage, determination and terror of a guerrilla war. Lunch at local restaurant.

After lunch, we will be back to Saigon and continue for an afternoon tour through the heart of Saigon’s famous and historic city landmarks including Dong Khoi Street (formerly Rue Catinat), the Rex Hotel, Municipal Theatre, Hotel de Ville and Notre Dame Cathedral. You will then join your vehicle and drive to the site of the former US Embassy (now the US consulate) before visiting the impressive Re-Unification Palace and War Remnants Museum. Back to hotel and relax.

DAY 3      Flight to Hue     (B)

Free time until our driver meet you at hotel and transfer you to Saigon airport for a short flight to Hue.

Arrival Hue, you will be picked up and transferred to hotel, check in and relax.

Hue is a peaceful central city that has a fascinating history, beginning with it's ancient Cham origins, to becoming the capital of Vietnam until 1945, and the site of one of the bloodiest and longest battles of the Vietnam War in 1968.  Today Hue is regarded as the cultural and spiritual capital of the country and has been recognised by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage site.

DAY 4      Hue Motorbike tour     (B/L)

8.30am Our guide will meet you at your hotel and introduce you to our highly skilled and qualified drivers who are sensitive to tentative pillion passengers and will travel at a gentle pace of 40km and less.  After a safety briefing your adventure begins, visit Hue’s Citadel and Forbidden Purple City to learn about Vietnam’s emperors and their intriguing histories. It is here that the emperor lived with his wife, concubines, eunuchs and flock of staff. The buildings are currently being restored to their former glory, bringing the complex back to life and igniting your imagination. During the tour you will ride through little laneways, beside canals and through local markets, visit a king’s tomb, Thien Mu pagoda and local handicrafts.  Lunch is a delicious traditional Buddhist banquet served at a pagoda.  This is a truly action packed day of scenery, history, culture and cuisine.

Free time in the afternoon.

DAY 5     Transfer Hue to Hoi An via Hai Van Pass    (B)

Free time at your leisure until our tour guide and driver meet you at hotel then transfer you to Hoi An, pass over Hai Van Pass, drive along My Khe Beach and stop at Marble Mountain for a short visiting before heading to Hoi An. Arrival Hoi An, check in and relax.

Hoi An is a charming World Heritage village which is being beautifully restored and preserved that will captivate you immediately.   No matter what you like you will find it here, whether it is shopping, restaurants, photography, history, architecture, golf, fishing, swimming, scuba, abseiling, or massage and lazing around.  Hoi An has become famous for its tailoring where there is a huge variety of fabrics to choose from.

DAY 6 & 
DAY 7     Hoi An Free day   (B)

Option tour:

  1. Hoi An Cooking class half day tour - $54NZD per person

    Free time until on the right time, make your own way to meeting point at Hai Scout Cafe (98 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street) From here you will take a tour of Hoi An's lively local market and learn about some of the more unusual ingredients.  Then you will board the Red Bridge boat for a leisurely cruise (25 minutes) along the Hoi An River to the Red Bridge Cooking School. On arrival, you can explore the cooking school’s herb garden, before learning about some of Hoi An’s and Vietnam’s well-known dishes - Fresh rice paper rolls, crispy Hoi An pancakes (banh xeo), seafood salad, eggplant in clay pot and food decoration. You can then enjoy your creations along with steamed ocean fish on a bed of fresh vegetables.  Vegetarian options are available.

  2. Bana Hills – Golden Hand Bridge full day with lunch - $160NZD per person

08:30 Picking up at the hotel and start to visit Ba Na Hills - King Mountain, also known as the second DaLat/ Sapa in Central. The beautiful weather here is always cool. (the distance from Hoi An to Bana cable car station is around 1 hour)

09:00 You will admire the high by the most modem cable car system in Southeast Asia. You will visit Dream Stream Cable car Station. After finishing the first cable car, you will visit France wine cellar, exploring the Golden Bridge (Winding its way around a 150-meter course lined with flowers, a Golden Bridge shimmers against the Ba Na Hills, supported by a pair of giant hands.). Linh Ung pagoda. You will see the panorama of Danang City.

11:00 Visit and play game at the Fantasy Park

12:00 Have a lunch and rest at the restaurant

13:00 Explore King Peak at an altitude 1.487m, you can see panorama view of the Bana Hills and Quang Nam - Da Nang on high. On the top of mountain have Linh Tu Pagoda that is a special temple construction. Then take a cable car back to bottom station, get on the bus and back to Hoi An. Trip ends.


Day 8     Da Nang - Departure     (B)

Breakfast at hotel. Check out time is 12.00pm. Free time until our driver transfer you to airport for your flight return at any time. Trip ends.

Flight times, hotels and other services are subject to availability and may change unexpectedly.  Wide Eyed Tours will endeavor to keep any disruption to a minimum but on these occasions it is largely out of our control.

Terms and Conditions

A non-refundable deposit of $250 per person is required upon confirmation of your booking. The balance is due 45 days prior to departure. If you fail to pay by the due date we reserve the right to cancel your booking and retain your deposit. If you make a booking less than 30 days prior to departure, full payment is due immediately

Up to 21 days prior to departure, three amendments per booking are permitted free of charge. For all subsequent changes there will be an amendment fee of $50 per change.

Cancellation fees apply to all cancelled reservations. The fee is determined by the date written cancellation is received by Wide Eyed Tours.

Days before departure:      More than 30 days - Loss of deposit
30 or less days – 100% of total booking cost

No refunds or exchanges can be made in respect of accommodation, meals, sightseeing tours, transport or any other services, which are included in the tour prices but not utilized by the client.     

Wide Eyed Tours is not responsible for any injury, loss, death, inconvenience, delay or damage to personal property in connection with the provision of any goods or services whether resulting from but not limited to acts of God or force majeure, illness, disease, acts of war, civil unrest, insurrection or revolt, animals, strikes or other labour activities, criminal or terrorist activities of any kind, overbooking or downgrading of services, food poisoning, mechanical or other failure of aircraft or other means of transportation or for failure of any transportation mechanism to arrive or depart on time.  Additional expenses incurred due to delays, accidents, natural disaster, political actions and unrest, must be covered by the clients.  Wide Eyed Tours will make every effort to recoup any losses from the service providers.

International flights are additional and pricing is subject to change at any time.
